Session Title:  A scientometrics review of generative artificial intelligence research in tourism
Speaker: Ms. Zhiyue Chen, Researcher, Sichuan Agricultural University

Session descriptionWith the increasingly widespread application of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in tourism, scholars have discussed and analyzed this technology from various aspects, but there was still a lack of systematic review on the whole field of GenAI research in tourism. In order to understand the current situation, hot spots and development path of research in this field, and reveal the future research direction, this paper retrieved 111 papers on GenAI research in tourism from Social Sciences Citation Index core database of the Web of Science from 2023 to 2025. Citespace, Histcite and Pajek were used for visual analysis. The results showed that although the research is in the initial stage, this topic has received extensive attention. There was close cooperation between authors, institutions and countries, but no influential core group of authors has been formed yet. The research mainly focused on technical characteristics, technology acceptance and specific applications. There was a strong cross-referencing relationship between the literature and a clear development context has been sorted out.
